Welcome to Union Square…..San Francisco Starts Here!
The Union Square Business Improvement District’s (USBID) very walkable 27-block area is home to approximately 6 million square feet of the city’s finest retail space and more than 12,500 hotel rooms. In addition, Union Square boasts many great restaurants, live theatre, a wonderful concentration of fine art galleries, luxurious salons and day spas.
Union Square park is the heart of this vibrant community and just minutes away from many popular San Francisco attractions. Situated in a historic open air setting, Union Square is the City’s most popular shopping destination with one of the highest concentrations of luxury retail in the world and the City’s second most popular dining destination. Whether your interest is art, dining, shopping or theatre, you’ll never run out of things to do and see in Union Square!
The original 10-block Union Square Business Improvement District was created in 1999 by property owners and merchants concerned with the cleanliness and safety of the downtown district. Today’s expanded 27-block USBID remains committed to keeping Union Square “Clean & Safe” and has expanded its mission to fund programs designed to enhance and promote the visitor experience with special programming and streetscape beautification projects. Working hand-in-hand with the City, USBID is committed to ensuring Union Square remains a world-class destination as well as a safe and vibrant community for those who live and work here. |
